Start With Hello Week at Orchard

Orchard Middle School students joined in Start With Hello Week, a nationwide program from Sandy Hook Promise that teaches young people to recognize social isolation and build a more connected, welcoming school community.

Students enjoyed icebreaker activities such as This or That, where they chose between fun options such as “dogs or cats?” or “read a book or watch a movie?” They also created labels to share what they are thankful for and wore favorite team jerseys to spark new conversations.

Through these activities, Orchard students are learning simple but meaningful ways to connect with one another and strengthen their school community.
